Tennessee Technology Center at Pulaski is a center for learning and retraining . If you are a motivated person and are dedicated to the field you choose to study you there is nothing you can not learn. As a former graduate I saw allot of students come and go and the ones that were dedicated and participated came out with more knowledge than was required to teach. Yes there are those students that do not apply themselves and expect to coast through life that have a hate for TTC Pulaski because they believe they did not learn what they needed. This could be true because those students did not come to class and dedicate themselves to the program.
I'm a recent graduate of the TTC and I enjoyed my time there. The classes are self paced so I never felt rushed to finish a subject or felt like I was waiting for others to catch up. I could work at a pace that was comfortable to me. The instructors were knowledgeable and helpful whenever I had questions. The class was not just bookwork there was hands on situations that I find in my job every week. Like anything else in life you get out of this what you put into it.
I have attended this so called scholl for all most a year and I'm not pleased with the 90% for the front office and instructors staff. Every time I visit the front office for help are questions they are at lunch. They have bad attitudes and smart remarks for everything. I wouldn't recommend this campas to any of my friend's are family.
Placement assistance from them is non-existent.
If you have another choice for continuing education or vocational rehabilitation it is advisable to look elsewhere, especially if you are a motivated student. You may unfortunately end up wasting your time and energy, and harming your earnings potential. Don't make the same mistake I did. Go somewhere else if you have a choice.
TTCP cites a job placement number which is very high. What that does not tell you is if you get ANY job, whether it be in the field which you trained for or in fast food, they will try to take credit for placement by asking you to sign off on it stating you were placed post graduation. So the numbers are skewed to say the least.
The skills I learned at TTC have been very useful in my new career.
Whether it is deserved or not, a diploma from TTCP is not respected by employers. Certainly there are some good instructors and some students who are qualified upon finishing their course, but their courses are self paced so if the student is not motivated there is not much gain. Hence the general lack of respect from employers. The motivated student is also penalized for this in the real world as the employer can not always judge, so even getting an interview is practically impossible.
