Been going here for 17 years. I would not trust anyone else with my fur babies. Doc is always available and has met us many times late at night at the office. I recommend his office to every one with animals.
While I absolutely love Dr. Galbraith and the care and attention he shows my animals, his staff isn't always the most hospitable. With that being said, he is always super busy and they do seem to need some organization to keep things running smoothly. Do not expect to be there less than an hour, even with an appointment. He is extremely popular and has appointments lined up as well as numerous walk-ins. My dog was recently bit by a copperhead and they were quick to get him treated when I did walk in and even made sure I was updated daily with his progress. They will explain and even demonstrate if you have to administer any medicine they prescribe.
I drive from Huntsville, AL to use Dr Galbraith. I have several dogs and cats so I have used many, many vets over the last 40 years. Dr. Galbraith is the only vet in whom I have 100 % confidence in his skill, compassion and loyalty. This man REALLY cares about animals and he is truly dedicated to giving the appropriate measures for their well being plus he is really more intelligent than a lot of vets I've tried before. For example, I used a "designer" vet in Madison county (AL) and paid $1300 for ultrasounds, X-rays & other tests and he arrived at a diagnosis that would require another $3500 to fix the problem. I took the same dog to Dr Galbraith, didn't tell him what the first vet said, he looked at the dog and made one X-ray and came up with the exact same diagnosis for less than $75.00 and then FIXED the problem for less than $400. The dog is fine six years later. Yes, the office is really busy, crowded, hectic, old and smells like a vet clinic. If you want the best possible care for your animal at any price, I would make the trip to see Dr. Galbraith. I only wish I could find a medical doctor I like as much as I like my vet.
Yall this man is amazing and very thorough! He cares about the pets and does so much wonderful things for the community and North Alabama
He is an amazing vet. He is, however, very busy and you will wait. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg here like many other vets, so I feel the wait isn't as bad. We had our kitten on a ventilator for over 24 hours to attempt to save him and the bill for that was like $50-$60 as opposed to the hundreds I would've spent elsewhere. Unfortunately, we lost that kitten, but to no fault of Dr. Galbraith (he had a heart condition we were unaware of). He called me personally when my kitten passed. We got a new kitten months later and I asked him if there was a way to check for a heart condition and he was very willing to check all of the signs on our baby. He cares a lot, even if he doesn't seem like it due to being slammed. He thanked my boyfriend this morning when he brought our kitten in for a spay for me bringing her back to him last time after losing the other. I appreciated that, and thanks a lot Dr. Galbraith!
